What we Have Been Up to in Class

On Friday the students enjoyed a prayer service in church.  This was a great end to Catholic Schools week.  The students also got their throats blessed to celebrate the feast of St. Blaise.

In math class the kindergarteners answered number riddles using their hundred chart and plastic stars to cover the number.  They were very excited to figure out what number I was describing.  The students did an excellent job recognizing numbers up to 100.  We also played a game where the students had to toss a beanbag on to the number that I said.  This was a big hit with the students.

This week the kindergarteners will continue to use their hundred charts to look at different patterns and to help us count to 100 by 2s, 5s, and 10s.  On Thursday we will be doing different activities to celebrate the 100th day of school, which just happens to tie in perfectly with what we are studying in math.  Next up will be addition!!
